The variety of Spondias dulcis or Umbarella that we sell is the dwarf species, very interesting to cultivate. It is a small tree or schrub, very easy to cultivate under subtropical or tropical climates, and also as a pot plant. The taste of Amabarella can be described as crisp and juicy, sub acid with a pineapple fragrance and flavor. When ambarellas ripen to a golden yellow, the taste is similar to an unripe mango: crunchy, fibrous and mildly sweet. |
